Transportation

Getting to the region of Bretagne shouldn’t be much of a hassle. If you live in Europe, then coming by car would be very recommended, but if you don’t then getting in by plane and then getting around by train or rental car is also fine.

 

Get in

By plane

You can fly to a number of airports in Bretagne, such as:

·        Brest (Ryanair flight from London Luton and Dublin, Flybe from Birmingham, Exeter, Manchester, Southampton)

·        Dinard (Ryanair flight from London Standsted, and Luton in summer)

·        Lorient

·        Quimper

·        Rennes (flights from Paris and some other French towns, mainly with Air France)

·        Saint-Brieuc (Channel island flights)

 

By train

The TGV train services link Paris, Lyon, Marseilles, and Lille to Rennes, Brest and Quimper.

 

By car

The A11, the Oceane Route, links Bretagne to Paris. A dual carriageway runs from Rennes to Nantes, and there is a motorway from Nantes to Bordeaux. All Breton roads are tax free.

 

Get around

To get around the region simply travel by train to your destination of choice. But if you want to really experience the Breton heritage and the lifestyle, a car would be very much recommended.
